George Barnett begins his first year as the co-offensive coordinator/OL coach at Miami. Barnett spent the past four seasons at Illinois State as the offensive line coach and running game coordinator and was named offensive coordinator prior to the 2013 season for the Redbirds. Barnett brings a wealth of knowledge along the offensive line, having coached the position for the past 15 years.

Wide receivers Coach

Brechin begins his first year as an assistant coach with the Miami RedHawks. Brechin comes from Grand Valley State University, where he coached wide receivers in 2013. Prior to GVSU, he spent three seasons working with the Notre Dame football coaching staff. He worked with the wide receivers and slot receivers and assisted the offensive coaches with film breakdowns, scouting reports and playbooks.

Pat Welsh

Pat Welsh

Tight Ends Coach

Pat Welsh in his first season as Miami's tight ends coach after spending the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at Notre Dame. While with the Irish he worked with the offensive line. Welsh also worked at Wittenberg (Ohio) College in 2011 as the quarterbacks coach and with Grand Valley State’s football program from 2008-10.

Eric Koehler

Co-Coordinator/Quarterbacks

Koehler begins his first year as the co-offensive coordinator/QB coach at Miami. He comes to the RedHawks after spending the 2013 season as the quarterbacks coach for Illinois State. Koehler has served as an offensive coordinator in five of the last six seasons and has also coached the quarterback position, dating back to 2000. He also has head coach experience leading Wartburg (Iowa) College to a 16-4 overall mark in his two years at the helm.

Autry Denson

Running Backs Coach

Former NFL running back and Notre Dame’s career rushing leader Autry Denson coaches running backs at Miami University. Denson comes from Bethune-Cookman where his RBs totaled 2,179 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns on 401 attempts (5.4 ypc). He was the starting running back for the Miami Dolphins in 1999 and 2000. Denson formed his own youth program called working with teenage athletes in education, on the field, and in bible study.
